Dr. Dalilah Romero
Dr. Romero comes from a large family and grew up surrounded by children. Her passion for helping kids is what inspired her decision to become a pediatric dentist, where she is able to fulfill her life’s calling every single day. This desire is what motivates her to make every patient feel special and important.
Dr. Romero received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Central Florida, and then went on to attend Virginia Commonwealth University where she received a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. She then completed pediatric residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, where she received her Certificate of Pediatric Dentistry and a Master of Science in Dentistry. Dr. Romero specializes in sedation dentistry for children who require it and working with children who have special health care needs.
Among her many lovely qualities, Dr. Romero is known for treating her patients like family, always exhibiting kindness, patience and understanding. She remembers all too well what it was like to be a child with cavities who experienced fear of the dentist, which is why she is able to relate so well to her young patients. She is a great listener and has a fun and friendly demeanor that kids just love.
Her philosophy on dentistry is that it should be both a partnership and support system for patients and families. Dr. Romero believes that because most dental disease is preventable her biggest role is helping families in addressing the root cause and offering long-term solutions. She loves to see parents take an active approach in treatment planning and preventative measures.
Dr. Romero notes that it is refreshing and wonderful to work with people who are genuine and supportive. Her colleagues Dr. Momin and Dr. Luedemann-Lazar are brilliant, empathetic and kind. At Kidstown Dental everyone works together to prioritize and support the health of the patients. It is a culture that cultivates integrity, respect and positivity. Love is at the root of everything.
It is apparent that Dr. Romero absolutely loves what she does, saying she feels “incredibly blessed” every single day. She has learned so much from her colleagues, and both her personal life and career have greatly evolved since joining the Kidstown Dental family.
When Dr. Romero isn’t working, she loves to spend quality time with her husband and daughter. Her passion for travel and adventure, means spending time in the mountains and hiking through Red Rock Canyon and Death Valley. Owning a home in the mountains one day, are among the top things on her bucket list.
Dr. Monica Momin
Dr. Momin loves working with children and embraces her profession with passion and happiness. She believes every child is unique and each one deserves to be approached in that way. Her favorite part of her work is forming lifelong relationships with her patients and influencing them to adopt healthy habits. Dr. Momin smiles as she comments, “Working with kids is incredibly rewarding and so much fun! They always speak their mind and say the funniest things! Children are a constant reminder to stay in the moment, experience joy from the simple things and live carefree.” Nothing makes Dr. Momin happier than to see a child leave with a smile on their face, and she is known for telling some pretty cheesy jokes on their behalf.
Her philosophy on pediatric dentistry is deeply built on establishing trust with her young patients and their parents. Dr. Momin believes it is extremely important that parents are comfortable with her and feel trust in how she treats their children. Having children of her own, she fully understands the fundamental/instinctual need to protect your child and put their wellbeing and safety first. In fact, it was the beautiful experience of becoming a parent, which moved her deeply and changed her both personally and professionally. It has helped her to connect more effectively with her patients and parents because through her own experience she has become even more mindful and compassionate of the joys and challenges being a parent can present.
Although Dr. Momin knew that she wanted to become a dentist at the age of nine, it was teaching and volunteer work that solidified her love of working with children and her desire to become a pediatric dentist. She is passionate about making a difference in children’s lives. Dr. Momin aspires to become an educator in pediatric dentistry one day, enabling her to share her passion, experience and expertise with dentists in training to become pediatric dentists.
Patients and parents are drawn to Dr. Momin’s very easy going, fun-loving personality, and it may surprise some to learn, because of her humility, that Dr. Momin graduated from Texas A&M, where she received a double major in Biochemistry and Genetics. She’s super smart!! She then went on to attend the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where she graduated with honors and received a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. She then finished her specialty training in pediatric dentistry at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Dr. Momin’s love for learning, desire to excel and 4 languages come from her unique and poignant history and upbringing. When Dr. Momin started her education journey in kindergarten, she did not yet speak English, but her drive to learn was seen from early on and has endured. Dr. Momin was the first person in her family to finish high school and graduate college. She always loved school and holds the belief that personal growth and learning are a lifelong opportunity.
Education and reading remain high on her list of priorities, especially childhood education and development. Dr. Momin has been involved with multiple programs and community service that support this cause. In addition, Dr. Momin credits her parents for instilling values and virtuous qualities like empathy, integrity, and respect for both herself and others. Dr. Momin treats patients like she would her own family, prioritizing their health and safety. This has proven to be a recipe for establishing trust and building relationships, which is especially meaningful to Dr. Momin.
Dr. Momin is extremely proud of what she does, which is clearly demonstrated by how she relates with her patients and colleagues alike. She says, “I love going to work!” Not only are the patients amazing, but her and her colleagues are close like family, sharing passion, positivity and teamwork. Dr. Momin had many opportunities when selecting a dental practice to join, but the deciding factor in choosing Kidstown Dental was the culture, the vision and the people who worked there. They genuinely enjoy each other’s company and make work fun!
When not at work, Dr. Momin loves spending quality time with her family, eating meals together and having meaningful conversations about their day. She and her husband enjoy taking their son on outdoor activities, often finding a nearby park or going on a hike when the weather permits. Additionally, the close relationship that she shares with her parents make their daily conversations a source of great comfort and joy and always put a smile on her face. Cooking and baking are a huge passion and she spends a great deal of time in the kitchen with her family! Some other hobbies she is eager to re-engage with are drawing and painting!
Dr. Momin has some daily rituals which she attributes to her positive attitude, enthusiasm and productivity. She finds that meditation, podcasts, audiobooks, and running allow her that “personal time,” and of these, she especially loves running! She says that running not only helps her relax and destress but also provides an energy boost and that rush of good feelings that nothing else can. Another great source of energy which she loves is coffee – lots of coffee!
What inspires Dr. Momin most? Making her loved ones proud! They have shown incredible support, continuously praying and believing in her potential, and never doubting her success. Their pride is what drives her to work harder and be the best version of herself. When asked: If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be? She answered: At home with my family, in the house that I grew up in, sharing a nice meal and conversation.
Among her many dreams and aspirations, Dr. Momin longs to travel the world. She loves to learn about new cultures and expand her mind – she is fascinated and intrigued by what the world has to offer!
