I would like to personally introduce everyone to Dr. Garrett. I am embarrassed I have not done so sooner! Dr. Garrett has been with our team since October of 2013. She has been a huge blessing to our team.
Dr. Garrett attended the University of Texas Dental School in Houston a few years after Dr. Lazar attended the same school. She also attended residency at the University of Texas at Houston. This is a wonderful residency program, in the “largest medical center in the world.” While in residency, through Herman Hospital, and UT’s special needs clinic, she had a wide exposure to just about every “special medical” need a child could have. Dr. Garrett worked with craniofacial patients from infancy through adolescence. In addition to her training with special needs children, and very apprehensive children (which are often the children who end up with pediatric dentists), she has a huge heart for the community. Dr. Garrett has volunteered in many varied community events, such as “Give Kids a Smile Day” and the Special Olympics.
Dr. Garrett is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is currently the Secretary/Treasurer of the Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the Greater Houston Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as the Houston Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is very involved in the profession of pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Garrett is married. Her husband, Dr. Gomez is a general dentist, and aspiring specialist in endodontics. Her and her husband love to run together and participate in running for causes. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, shopping, and watching movies. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
On some of our Kidstown reviews, parents have said Dr. Amy and Dr. Rachael are carbon copies, and great with children. Dr. Garrett is an inspiration and a joy to work with here at Kidstown Dental. We hope you will get to meet her if you haven’t already!
